Our Story
Hotties (as they are known outside of North America) were invented in the rolling hills of Yorkshire, U.K. by a well-respected scientist, Dr. Adrian Fellows. Dr. Fellows saw the number of injuries occurring each year in the U.K. from traditional hot water bottles, gel packs and rice/grain bags and decided to create a safer alternative. His simple, yet ingenious, thermal core was an instant hit for its safety and versatility and has grown to be one of the best-known heat pads on the U.K. market.
In 2015, members of the Smith and Biesse families, from Australia, became friends with Dr. Fellows and he expressed his desire to step back from the running of Hotties. The Smith and Biesse families joined the Hotties team in April 2016. Hotties have launched in Australia and the United States and continue to focus on growth inside and outside Europe's borders. With their impeccable safety record and long lasting heat, we believe a Hottle is a great addition to every family.
